2018年9月17日下午4点,应正规(beat·365旧版)绿色学院邀请,德国明斯特大学Frank Glorius教授在化学馆321报告厅做了题为“On Discovery in Catalysis”的学术报告。此次报告由化学学院冯小明教授主持,游劲松教授、刘小华教授、Jason Chruma教授、周向葛教授、高戈教授、陈小川教授、曾小明教授、余达刚教授、余志鹏教授、王天利教授、郑柯教授、董顺喜教授、付海燕教授和曹伟地教授等老师及学生参加了报告会。
在报告中,Glorius教授重点介绍了他们课题组在探索新化学过程中的策略和心得。他首先介绍了在氮杂卡宾催化领域相关的研究进展,如:氮杂卡宾在金属表面的化学及其在模拟生物膜方面的应用,以及氮杂卡宾在芳烃氢化方面的研究工作。此外他还介绍了他们课题组在可见光催化领域的一些进展。最后他以光催化过程为例,介绍了基于机理认识的高通量筛选方法的应用。整场报告内容丰富,Glorius教授讲解形象生动,深入浅出,使师生获益匪浅。在随后的自由提问环节,在座师生与Glorius教授进行了热烈而深入地讨论交流。报告在热烈的掌声中落下帷幕,结束后部分老师与Glorius教授合影留念。
Prof. Dr. Frank Glorius received PhD degree at Max-Planck-Institute (MPI) and University of Basel with Prof. Andreas Pfaltz in 2000. He was a postdoctoral fellow with Prof. David A. Evans in Harvard University (2000-2001). Then he started his independent research at the MPI, became associate professor at University of Marburg in 2004 and promoted to full professor at Muenster University in 2007. His research interest spans a wide range of different hot topics in catalysis, including NHC organocatalysis, C-H activation, asymmetric hydrogenation and photocatalysis. Prof. Glorius is a recipient of many prestigious awards, including two ERC Grant (2010 and 2017), OMCOS award (2011), Leibniz Award (2013), Mukaiyama Award from Japan (2017), Highly Cited Researcher (four times), and ACS Cope Scholar Award (2018). He has published more than 280 papers in Science, Nat. Chem. and other journals.
